Blonde Consultation: Photos, Hair History & Curly Hair

A great blonde appointment starts before you sit in the chair.

The more accurately your stylist understands your starting point, the easier it is to recommend the right service, estimate timing, and discuss a realistic price range.

At BLONDE TRANSFORMATION, new clients are asked to begin with a short consultation and current hair photos. Olena personally reviews the information before recommending the next step.

Here is exactly what to send.

1. A CLEAR PHOTO OF THE BACK OF YOUR HAIR

This is one of the most useful images because it shows overall length, density, color distribution, and the condition of the ends.

Try to take the photo in natural daylight without a filter.

2. FRONT AND SIDE VIEWS

A front photo helps show your natural framing pieces, root area, and how your current color works with your face.

Side photos can reveal uneven lightening, previous highlights, or different tones that may not be visible from the back.

3. SHOW THE ROOTS

If possible, include a photo where the natural root is visible.

This helps Olena understand your natural base and how much regrowth is present before planning Highlights, Babylights, Blonde Transformation, or Color Correction.

4. DO NOT HIDE THE CURRENT CONDITION

You do not need to style your hair perfectly before taking consultation photos.

In fact, it can be useful to see the hair as it naturally behaves — especially if your concerns include frizz, dryness, texture, breakage, or uneven color.

Avoid strong beauty filters or color-changing filters. They can make it harder to judge the real starting point.

5. SEND INSPIRATION PHOTOS

Inspiration photos are extremely helpful, but think of them as a visual language rather than a promise that your hair will look identical to someone else’s.

A reference photo can show:

• How bright you want to be.
• Whether you prefer warm, neutral, or cool tones.
• How much dimension you like.
• Whether you prefer a softer root or brighter root area.
• Whether you like bold contrast or very blended color.
• Your preferred length and finish.

Olena will interpret the reference through the reality of your own hair.

6. TELL THE TRUTH ABOUT YOUR HAIR HISTORY

Hair history is one of the most important parts of a color consultation.

Please mention if you have had:

• Permanent color.
• Demi-permanent color.
• Box dye.
• Bleach or highlights.
• Toner or gloss.
• Henna.
• Keratin or smoothing treatments.
• Hair Botox.
• Major Color Correction.
• Recent chemical services.

Even if something was done a long time ago, it may still matter — especially on longer hair.

7. TELL US WHAT YOU DO NOT LIKE NOW

Sometimes it is easier to explain what is bothering you than to name the exact technique you need.

Examples:

“I feel too yellow.”

“My roots look harsh.”

“My blonde feels flat.”

“I want to be brighter around my face.”

“My ends look dry.”

“My color has too many different bands.”

“I want less maintenance.”

You do not need to know whether that means Balayage, Highlights, Babylights, Color Correction, or Blonde Transformation. That is what the consultation is for.

8. SHARE YOUR MAINTENANCE EXPECTATIONS

Tell Olena how often you realistically want to return to the salon.

Someone who enjoys frequent bright-blonde maintenance may need a different plan from someone who wants a softer grow-out and fewer appointments.

The best color is not just the prettiest result on day one. It should also make sense for your lifestyle.

9. TELL US WHICH LOCATION YOU PREFER

San Jose is Olena’s primary location at 1700 Park Avenue, San Jose, CA 95126. San Francisco appointments at 315 Sutter St. are available on selected dates.

Select your preferred location in the consultation form so the conversation can move toward the right appointment options.

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER YOU SUBMIT?

Olena reviews your photos, your hair history, and your desired result personally.

She then recommends the most appropriate direction, discusses timing and a starting price range, and continues the conversation with you on WhatsApp.

For complex blonde and corrective services, this process is much more useful than choosing a random appointment from a booking menu.

FAQ

Do my photos need to be professional?

No. Clear phone photos in natural light are enough.

Should my hair be styled?

It can be, but it does not need to be. The priority is seeing the real color, roots, lengths, and overall condition.

Can I send several inspiration photos?

Yes. A few references can help show the common details you are drawn to.

What if I do not know which service I need?

Choose “Not sure / Need Olena’s recommendation” in the form.

Can I just message on WhatsApp?

WhatsApp is the primary direct communication channel, but the consultation form is useful because it organizes your photos and hair history for Olena to review.

What to Share if Your Hair Is Curly or Textured

Include clear photos of your hair in the curl pattern or texture you normally wear. Add a view of the roots and ends, and tell Olena whether you usually style it curly, air-dry it, blow-dry it or wear it straight. This helps explain how you want the color to look in everyday life.

Tell her if preserving your natural texture is a priority. Share previous lightening, permanent color, relaxers, keratin or other smoothing treatments, and any concerns about fragile areas or changes in how your hair behaves. Photos start the conversation; they do not replace an in-person assessment when one is needed.

Choose inspiration for the details you like: brightness around the face, ribbons of color through curls, a natural root, or creamy honey-beige tone. Ask what is realistic for your starting hair and what maintenance the proposed result would require. There is no need to promise yourself a specific shade or number of sessions before the consultation.

Share Your Budget and What Matters Most

Highlights and Babylights start from $350. Tell Olena your budget, desired brightness and realistic maintenance schedule. Ask for the service recommendation, what the quote includes, expected appointment time and whether more than one visit may be needed.

Explore blonde services in San Jose, balayage and highlights and the current price guide. Then send your consultation request or message Olena on WhatsApp.
